I like this quote of his much better:
“The task of leadership is to create an alignment of strengths, making weaknesses irrelevant.” Peter Drucker

Danny: Drucker is really ‘the man’ when it comes to business writing. He puts most of the modern business writers to shame.

It’s really too bad he’s not still widely read. I’d love to see a resurgence of interest in his work.

Me too! It seems the modern writers are rediscovering the same things Drucker wrote about decades ago. History, repeating it, etc.

On the plus side, those of us who know about him and read his stuff have an unfair advantage. Huzzah!

I was doing a sales presentation on leadership and management and was asked, during the Q&A, “What authors do you read?” I mentioned “Peter Drucker” and it was all good. He is the man! One of my favorite quotes, and one I use in every Intro to Management session, is

“Management means, in the last analysis, the substitution of thought for brawn and muscle, of knowledge for folkways and superstition, and of cooperation for force. It means the substitution of responsibility for obedience to rank, and of authority of performance for the authority of rank. Whenever you see a successful business, someone once made a courageous decision.”
