Want an early copy of The Year Without Pants? (exclusive)

YWP COVER FINALThe Year Without Pants: WordPress.com and the Future of Work is just a few weeks away from releasing. It’s already earned endorsements from Tim Ferriss, Guy Kawaskai, Tony Hsieh and more.

What happens now is my publisher sends out copies of the book, called gallies, to journalists, magazines and other media so they can review the book when it comes out.

Are you a:

  • journalist?
  • magazine editor?
  • prominent book reviewer?
  • active blogger?
  • someone who blogs for a prominent blog?
  • host of a major TV talk show or owner of a media empire :)

And want a galley? If yes, contact me directly or leave a comment.

I can’t promise you’ll all get one, but it can’t hurt to leave your name.

Some early praise:

“The Year Without Pants is one of the most original and important books about what work is really like, and what it takes to do it well, that has ever been written.”
Robert Sutton, professor, Stanford University, and author, New York Times bestsellers The No Asshole Rule and Good Boss, Bad Boss

“WordPress.com has discovered a better way to work, and The Year Without Pants allows the reader to learn from the organization’s fun and entertaining story.”
Tony Hsieh, author, New York Times best seller Delivering Happiness, and CEO, Zappos.com, Inc.

“The underlying concept—an ‘expert’ putting himself on the line as an employee—is just fantastic. And then the book gets better from there! I wish I had the balls to do this.”
Guy Kawasaki, author, APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur, and former chief evangelist, Apple

“If you want to think differently about entrepreneurship, management, or life in general, read this book.”
Tim Ferriss, author, New York Times best seller The 4-Hour Workweek

Um. YES! I want a copy. I’m getting ready to recharge the blog and bring back my book reviews. I haven’t reviewed in a while but it used to be a huge deal on my old blog (sarahwalstonsblog.wordpress.com) This would be a perfect start!

I don’t suppose galleys can come via Nook?;-) But seriously, enjoyed Mindfire immensely and as a guy who’s allowed to work half-plus of my day from home and to write a blog on our Website, it’d be fun to get an early look at your book and be brutally honest in my review;-) (I’m sure I’ll love it!) It’ll give me something to read when my Nook is charging (that is, when I can pull myself away from the Vortex that is my work. I know I’m not alone;-)

I’d love to read your newest book. “Making things happen” (and Scott Taylor’s “The Lazy Project Manager”) are, both, my bibles for project management (they are like the New and the Old testaments, interchangeably speaking).
In my favor – I don´t know if it’s good enough – you yourself once recognized that I’m the first and only one (@ultimoMohicano) who has ever translated into Spanish a couple of your Tweets…

    Hey Scott,

I have been looking forward to your book for quite sometime now. Having worked from home in this large software outsourcing industry in India for five years now, contrary to the practice here, I always wanted something that I can share with the rest of the industry to let them know what it is to work from home.

I have a niche audience in the Social CRM circles (I am primary judge in the http://www.crmidol.com contest) and in India centric blogs, in addition to a captive audience of my company’s internal blog (I am one of the ten featured bloggers on this platform which has 160K+ people).

Moreover, I have been roped in to provide insights to the team that wants to build the org capabilities that would allow its 160K+ employees option to work from anywhere, any time. If that comes to fruition, I must say the scale at which we see people work without pants go north in quite a big way. There might be a huge spurt in the sales of pink pajamas or decrease in the sales of trousers. I don’t know. The cultural differences between the US and India are too many at that scale. It would interesting to learn from your experiences. :)

Read the great “Making Things Happen” and saw you in couple presentations @ Building 33. To be honest, haven’t written reviews, my blog doesn’t qualify as prominent, but would love such a galley anyway and, why not, gonna write my first book review :-) Best wishes.

Yes, please! I recommend your “Confessions” to all my cooking teachers and folks at my “Create a Life You Love” classes. It even inspired one of the hottest scenes in my new book, Fifty Weeks of Green. (I’ll send you a copy.) I also write for HuffPo as well as my own blog.

No, I don’t fall in one of the categories but that doesn’t matter, I am happy to pay for the book and tell my friends about it, if it is good enough. But your track record promisses some good and fun reading, so publish it asap :-).

I would love to have an early copy. Truth is, I will certainly buy your book anyway, as I have read all your previous books and shared the wisdom found in them far and wide. This particular title hits home since I am myself a remote worker. I can certainly post a review in my personal blog which I am currently rebuilding (http://blog.garridovaz.com), even though I have not done book reviews in the blog yet – and in fact this would be a great opportunity to start doing that. Thanks!
