I can’t believe Ms Rabe thinks that Eveready story is the type of innovation they are hyping (i.e. beginner’s luck). They had a marketing problem and they brought in a marketing expert. She used her marketing expertise to dramatically increase the saleability of their product. Yeah, it was innovative in that no one else had made a pink flashlight before, but it was her expertise and not naïvety that saved this product.
Bingo. What isn’t innovation given the way this article uses the term? I was also annoyed by the complaint about jargon, followed by the tossing in of “zero-gravity thinker” – what?
