Mindfire: Free preview now available

For 52 hours, the entire book was available for free. But don’t worry. If you like free things, you are still in luck

You can download a free PDF preview of the book (nearly 1/3rd of the content), right now.

Click here to get it: free sample of Mindfire: Big Ideas for Curious Minds (PDF).

If you like what you find, I hope you’ll pay a few bucks for the rest.

The book is on sale now at  amazon.com, in print and kindle editions, and on B&N and iBookstore.

There are some minor issues with these digital versions.

The .mobi/kindle edition is slightly offset, with new pages starting low on each page. This will be fixed shortly, and will definitely be fixed before the official (for pay) kindle release.

The PDF has a low-res version of the cover, but this will be fixed soon as well.

So does this mean that your monthly mailing list is coming out today or tomorrow so we can take advantage of the free download of Mindfire?

The post will likely go out tomorrow, but you get the book instantly when you sign up.

The disclaimer absolves your from any liability if a reader sets a mind on fire?!

    Where’s the truthiness in that?

Ditto. Thought there might be a link to the PDF in the confirmation e-mail, but there wasn’t. With all these great comments, I really want to start reading “Mindfire”!

You need to tell me what device and what browser you’re using if I have any hopes of sorting out the problem.

There have been thousands of successful downloads so far on most platforms. Happy to try to fix for you, but I need more info to do that. Thanks.

Gave Mindfire 5-stars on amazon. I realize that it might not be the most honest move before finishing reading the book, but the first impression and the chance to just download it for free got me. Anyway, thanks, good luck and keep up the good work! ;)

    Scott,

    you are the best!
although it must not be easy to give stuff you have toiled on for hours for free.. I will do my best to contribute.

    Thank you very much!

When you sign up using this special form, and select the digital format you want, the download should start automatically.

Scott, after my first request confirmed my signup via email, the download of the requested PDF failed to start automatically. Since then I have used Chrome, Firefox and Safari (Mac OSX), and requested all 3 formats (with the same and different email addresses). No further confirmation emails arrived, and no downloads were initiated.

Hope you have time to sort this out.

The tab order on your form is incorrect. It skips from the name field at top to the comments field instead of to the next email or format field.

yeah, the tabs definitely need some work. very painful.

I think it’s fab that you’re giving your work away free for a limited time.

Great read, so far. I may be back upon completion.
From Chapter 4 Gasoline, Time and Pressure, Page 28 says, “These habits create inhospitable
environments for bulls–t.” – In general I agree, however this same practice is a sign to
your experts that the level of trust is insufficient. Double edge sword in my opinion.

A review on Amazon will definitely be added – I might even comment back here!

    Thank you!

    Hi Scott,
How does a person know if the free copy of Mindfire was downloaded? I followed the links yesterday through to the request for email and selecting epub as the format then began the download but I don’t use my phone for that kind of work often and I’m just not sure I got your book! I’ve been very excited about it since I learned of it yesterday. I even sent out a mass email for family and friends! Anyway, I wanted to double check that I had it, came here to see if I should re-download it, and see that the free 48 hour period is over (but kudos for extending it to 52!). Can you help me find out if the download finished by using my email address?

As the head of a new organization in the Houston area that is dedicated to showing how great it can be to adopt a cat from a shelter, I’m eager to read your book for leadership inspiration. My group is Houston Area Household Pet Alliance. We say that, “even a street cat can become a show cat!” and we’re going to demonstrate in person the first weekend of December! I know that Mindfire will be an asset!

    Many thanks,
    Michelle Mullens

    Awww! :(((
I got the email saying “8 hours to go”, but the email is 9 hours old and arrived while I was sleeping (I’m Down Under, yanno).
    Very sad.

Sorry I missed the offer, but oddly enough it was your countdown timer I really liked… was it open source? or something you wrote? I’d really like to use something like that in another project of mine thus if there is a link to the source or another option to obtain it I’d certainly be interested to know.

Apparently I’m a little behind on my feeds. Any chance of another 24 free download for those who just signed up for the newsletter?
