Signed copy of The Year Without Pants to First 10 commenters

YWP-sidebarHi folks. Its been a long time since I gave things away.

Some of you subscribe directly by email (“Get Posts Instantly” in the sidebar) or RSS to every single post. That’s swell of you.

As a small token of thanks you get the first shot at this. I won’t hit the social media thingies until later today.

The first 10 people (in North America, sorry rest of planet) to leave a comment will get a signed copy of The Year Without Pants, an Amazon.com best book of 2013.

Bonus: I’ll also pick another 5 additional commenters at random to get a book, so if you’re late, leave a comment anyway. You might still win!

Thanks for reading and supporting my work.

There’s a joke in there somewhere that all my books are kids books :)

Oddly enough I read The Giving Tree for the first time a few weeks ago. There are big gaps in my childhood reading apparently.

I already have the book and I loved it.
I’m from EMEA, so I don’t expect the book, yet I would say, when I would win one, I would ask you to give it away to some people in university who are living of welfare, like I did when I studied. I never had money for extra books. so these people need it more then anyone else I think…

    Hi Scott–

A while back, a post on Bob Sutton’s “Work Matters” blog led me your way.

I’m glad I found you. Your blog is great fodder for the mind, a total must-read. I’m always a little disappointed on the days you don’t post, but as someone who also writes for a living, I understand the occasional break.

I’m embarrassed to say I haven’t yet read “The Year Without Pants,” but a signed copy would be so cool. And hey, if I’m too late for that, I’ll pick up a copy at Amazon.

Keep up the wonderful work, Scott…your work sticks and it makes a difference.

I really enjoyed the book, but I read it on my e-reader and would love to have a signed copy, especially if signed to my name.

I had a couple of jobs where we were allowed to work remote one or two days a week, but this really shed light on what it might be like to work remote all the time, and with a team that is not even close to you geographically.

Hi Scott! I have been enjoying your work and this blog is a frequent stop for me. Your empty bookshelf post was particularly inspiring. I frequently wish I had the singular focus to accomplish a specific goal. Good luck on future endeavors and I hope to someday hear you speak (I live in Nebraska, so it may be a long shot).

First discovered you from your Ted talk – Saving Your Creative Soul, and have been an avid follower of your talks/blogs/books ever since. I loved this book. I now work in an environment where the idea of working remotely, autonomously, and having open/transparent communication as an organization (we use #slack) are actually in play. It was amazing to gain exposure to these concepts for the first time through your blogs and book, and have those manifest into my daily life.

I know I missed the 10 comment window, but would love a signed copy if there are any extra :)

Scott, like Pavlov’s dogs responding to a bell, I jump to leave a comment in the hopes of getting a signed copy. Unlike a lab rat or a test pigeon, I will not continuously send comments until I receive a reward. (You don’t have to thank me.)

    Keep on thinking and writing.

Awesome to hear about the possibility of being a random winner. I’ve been curious about the Year Without Pants (and it’s hard to write that without it sounding very wrong.) If nothing else, it’s an opportunity to state how much I got out of The Myths of Innovation and what I continue to get from your writing about writing. Thank you for doing what you do. You’re one of the few people who I actively follow with my RSS reader.

But since I already have a signed copy of The Myths of Innovation perhaps I’m just being greedy.

    Hi Scott,
Call me a Vulcan, but: You forgot to say what to comment on. To me “comment” is a dangling modifier or something.

Meanwhile, speaking of winning contests, it is relevant that an author you have mentioned before, Po Bronson (and Ashley Merryman) has come out with a book I just started today called Top Dog, the science of winning and losing. They say as the odds go down, motivation goes down… but nonetheless, here’s my comment.

I recommend Po’s book to you. (and your readers) Besides obvious stuff, with 79 trade pages of selected sources and references, it has lots of counter intuitive, gender, and neuro-physiological data.

I have TYWP on my Amazon UK wish list waiting for the Kindle price to get much closer to the US dollar price—works out at over £3 more. What’s with that? On the subject of giveaways, postage on ebooks is very reasonable.
